Sunflowers represent: A long life and lasting happiness, as most varieties stand in full bloom throughout the summer! We have been lucky to have lots of sunshine this year which has meant lots of ice cream and garden time. It has been exciting to watch the sunflowers grow from little seeds planted in May. The sunflowers were planted in room order to easily identify the winner. Unfortunately some were eaten by slugs or destroyed by wind, but all in all the ones surviving are stunning. The dried heads will provide a tasty treat for the birds and garden squirrel.
